Ataraxy Story
Ataraxy was founded in Hertfordshire in June 2020 when I found a passion for candle making. From a hobby now turned small business Ataraxy produces hand-poured 100% soy wax candles and melts that are individually perfected right here at my home. Soy wax is a longer-lasting wax and contains no toxins, pollutants, or carcinogens unlike paraffin wax so this means you can enjoy your beautiful candle for much longer.

I've tested many different wicks, waxes, temperatures, and oils to try and determine the best possible combination of all factors to produce the best candle. I use the highest amount of oil that the specific candle wax weight can hold to give off the highest scent throw. I also use the appropriate size wick along with a wick setter to be sure the wicks are placed centre in each container to ensure maximum burn time, as little soot as possible, and tunnelling.

Ataraxy also produces homemade essential oils and preserved fruits and herbs that are homegrown on our very own balcony to use in our various candle ranges to try and give you more of a natural candle and wax melt. At Ataraxy we believe in using the highest quality ingredients and materials to be able to be as eco-friendly as possible and are always finding new ways to improve.
